with excellent shade, cold, heat, and drought tolerance. Adapts well to most soil conditions and is well suited for home and commercial applications. One of the most widely used St. Augustinegrasses in the Carolinas due to its great cold tolerance and appearance. Mixes well with Centipede in shade areas where Centipede is declining due to lack of sunlight.
Sapphire is a new St. Augustinegrass developed by
with excellent deep blue green color. In test, Sapphire has shown great heat tolerance and the ability to maintain its fall color longer. It has excellent drought tolerance and shows fast horizontal growth which enables it to handle traffic very well. It's leaf texture is smaller than other St. Augustinegrasses due to the long leaf blades are highly infolded in mature turf giving it a fine leaf texture. It adapts well to most soil conditions and is well suited for home and commercial applications.
Raleigh St. Augustine is very reliable St. Augustinegrass developed by N.C. Agricultural Research Service in 1980. Developed in North Carolina, it has great cold hardiness and shows excellent tolerance to shade. Great grass for home owners and commercial sites. Handles traffic better than centipede and has excellent salt tolerance. Used frequently around the coast.
