Sapphire is a new St. Augustinegrass developed by Sod Solutions with excellent deep blue green color.  In test, Sapphire has shown great heat tolerance and the ability to maintain its fall color longer.  It has excellent drought tolerance and shows fast horizontal growth which enables it to handle traffic very well.  It's leaf texture is smaller than other St. Augustinegrasses due to the long leaf blades are highly infolded in mature turf giving it a fine leaf texture.  It adapts well to most soil conditions and is well suited for home and commercial applications.
